Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon coarse salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 pound fresh asparagus spears, trimmed

Instructions

  1. Prepare your asparagus by washing it, and then trimming off the tough ends.
  2. Heat a frying or grill pan with butter on medium-high heat. Add asparagus, salt and pepper and toss to ensure that it is evenly coated. Cook for approximately 12 minutes, until the asparagus is tender and you are able to easily stick a fork through. Add garlic and fry for an additional 60 seconds.
  3. Plate and serve.
